Sorry, but I was rooting for Rocco

He was everything that I like about sports.  He seemed like Golf’s equivalent to Favre…a guy who just seemed to be having fun being there and as much as he wanted to win, he really would walk away happy if he didn’t.

Bummed that he didn’t win…but he’s proven to me he can play the game and maybe we’ll see him again.

We’re Just Gonna Blog It Out

If you’re a fan of the “house ads” that run during the game, now you can embed them in your personal pages.  We’ve posted most of them, including some you haven’t seen yet, to our YouTube account.  Feel free to grab your favorite.

It’s nice to have friends

Yo…

First off, sorry for a complete and total lack of blogging.  Not that I think any of you are out there waiting on the edge of your seat for some quick sentances and a random thought of the day.  But, still…

So a good friend of mine works in promotions and marketing for Regal Cinemas.  And, for some strange reason…she likes me.  So, for those of you that are getting the hook up on prizes, don’t be surprised to see a little extra something come along for the ride when your raffle item arrives.  All I ask, is return the favor.  The next time you’re headed out to the movies, take a trip to our friends at Regal.  Yes, it’s a shameless plug.  So what?

More POP programming is in the works.  And, a big thanks to those of you that are helping out with the super-secret beta test tonight.  Your input is EXTREMELY valuable to us.

See ya…

The Mid-Day Buffet

The hours have expanded!

So, we’re now broadcasting every day starting at noon.  The early stuff during the day will be a combination of live-hosted and repeats.  The nice thing is that the repeats are not just music, they are the full hosted sessions from previous days.  So, if you missed something, you still get the chance to have some fun with Chris, Paul, Bower, and Jason & Rob.  We will be replacing the winners segment with music, since we don’t want to announce the previous night’s winners.  But, the hours have expanded.  Just as you guys have asked for.

Thanks to everyone who continues to help spread the word about the game.  We’re having a BLAST everyday producing this stuff and we’re glad you’re tuning it.

We’re Trying Something New on Sunday

Join us Sunday night at 8 when we take on the NCAA bracket announcements with our own GameShow twist.  Here’s what we’re going to do…

There will only be 8 questions and there will be no wager.  We’re actually going to set Jason and Rob loose to just talk about the brackets.  Who they like, who they don’t like, who the Cinderella teams will be.  All that fun stuff.  The two sessions will each be broken into two segments.  We’re going to hit each of the four regions.  After each region, we’ll ask you 4 questions about the teams that are there.  Then a quick break, then we’ll move on to the next region, four more questions, etc.  There will still be a winner at the end of each round and we’ll be asking you to make some predictions on who you think will win the regions.

More than anything, we want to take the “Sports Radio” aspect of what we do and make it interactive with you.  So, obviously you can IM the studio…but even more than that, we want you to gather together in the rooms and IM with each other.  I’m sure most all of us are going to be participating in a bracket game at work or with our friends.  Heck, I think I’m in five of them.  So, here’s a chance to chat about it with the GameShow Nation on Sunday night.

I think it’ll be fun.  The boys are looking forward to producing it Sunday night and I hope you’ll tune in.

We’re shifting the outfield over

Attention baseball fans…

To accomodate some other programming moves, we’ve shifted our daily baseball fix for you.  Instead of hitting the diamond at midnight, we’re now firing off our baseball half hour from 10:30 to 11pm each night.  This includes, at least for a few more days, the “Countdown to Opening Day” sessions that have been running.  Those will air now at 10:30.

As always, thanks for playing and good luck tonight!

The Only Shirt You’ll Ever Need

6xChickenShirt

Here it is.  I don’t even need to waste my time with a full description.  The shirt says it all.

The back, by the way, says “Fear the Chicken”

A very short radio observation

In Atlanta, Don Imus just got added as the morning show on an OLDIES station.

Enough said.

Jana’s in Charge

Further proving who’s really in charge around here, you have probably heard that we’re adding another shift for Jana.  Actually, the conversation went like this:

Jana:  “Hey, Nate.  I want to do more Pop.”

Me:  “Ummm, we’ll have to work on the schedule and — (interrupted)”

Jana:  “Yeah, whatever.  Just put me on the schedule for another Happy Hour on Thursdays.”

Me:  “Okay.”

So, starting this week, we add more Pop to your life.  And more importantly, more Jana.  Jana’s Happy Hour is now twice a week.  Enjoy.
